NewsHere is an archive of news stories about SouthernFjord and its clients 1 January 2004A new year, and time to replace table layouts with CSS (style sheets) How standard are web standards? The original SouthernFjord.com site was designed in 2000, with tables used for layout, large images split between cells, text "trapped" inside graphics, remote javascript rollovers to swap over the graphics - in other words, a typical site of the time. Now is the time to change over to a "web-standards-compliant" site, conforming to xhtml 1.0 transitional doctype. Will it be possible to completely do away with html tables used for layout? We shall see. Previous story |
